I have grown to love the faith texts in the Bible. One of my favorite texts are Hebrews 11:1, "Faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." This verse means so much to me because it reminds me that I can place my faith in God and in things I cannot see right now. This brings hope into my life.

As a child I was given a mustard seed that was inside a necklace. I wore that for years. It always reminded me of the text in Matthew 17:20 that says, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." That mustard seed was a constant reminder to me of this text. I wore it to remind me of the power of God in my life.

Over the years I have faced many mountains. Some so big that all I can see is the mountain but faith is what has kept me going. I may not find a way around the obstacle in my life, I may not have the strength to tackle that mountain and I may not think there is a way to climb it but I can have the faith that in time God will help me with all the challenges I face as I deal with these mountains in my life.

My motto will always be: "With God and single parent miracles happen." But this can be the motto of any of us. With God and parents miracles happen. With God and church miracles happen. With God and a person committed to God miracles happen. With God and teacher miracles happen. With God and doctor miracles happen. The reality is with God and our faith and reliance in Him miracles can happen in all of our lives. It takes us trusting, believing and placing our faith in God despite the difficulties we are surrounded by. Do we trust and believe that God is there to help us? This is what faith is. Faith is trusting and believing in God even when we can't see a solution in our situation.

I chose to have faith. Each and every day I chose to believe in the faith texts. "I live by faith not by sight," II Corinthians 5:7, because God sees beyond what my mind cannot fathom. In His perfect time solutions will happen and the mountain that is standing in my way will move from here to there. I chose to have faith. What about you? Will you trust God even in the uncertainties and challenges you face?
